Default Should their be play in the front sprocket?

I am finalizing my build and got a quick question. Should their be a little play from side to side from the front sprocket? I am talking slight play between the bolt and the block.

THe front sprocket on my 1KF has about 1mm of float between the engine casing and the bolt. The same question went through me head when I fist removed the sprocket and refitted a new one. The old one was the same so when the new one had the same play I didn't worry about it.
Two years of riding it says it doesn't matter.
If you remove the sprocket, just make damned sure you torque it back down correctly. No way you'd want that to come loose. No way you'd want to break it off either.
Honda recommend renewing it when you replace the sprock. Food for thought!

yep - that play is normal. I even think the Clymer manual references that play as normal. Torque the bolt holding the sprocket on to 40 ft/lb and you're good.
