Default Removing stock handle bar ends

Im having serious problems taking out the oem handle bar ends. Has anyone done this before or know how to taje them out? I thought it would be a simple task but it has grown quite difficult.

Tried putting a bolt in and pulling it out with no avail.

You see the drilled hole about 1/2 inch up from the end of the outer tube.
Clean that out and inside it is a small metal clip, push it in with a small screwdriver to unclip it, while wiggling the bolt used to pull the center weight.
There is also another one on the opposite side. You need to get both to unclip, then the center will pull out.

I got the clips out but I’m making no progress pulling the bar end out.
Also, is the throttle side any different? It looks harder.

If you got the clips unhooked, then the center weights are just held in by 2 rubber bushings.
They may just be stuck, I'd try spraying some wd-40 inside to unstick the rubber.
Then the weights should pull out.
Sometimes helps to put the bolt in a vice and then pull on the clipon.
But you have to have the internal clips undone or you are going nowhere.

Got it out! Thank you so much. Any tips on the throttle side? Looks like it would be tough to get to it from that side.

Throttle side is the same as the other side.
If you've still got them on the bike - Take them off and work just with the clipon itself.
It's easier and you don't risk damaging the switch/housing/throttle tube in the process.

If it's really stuck, maybe try putting a lock nut on the bolt before threading it into the bar weight.
Then lock it in place and put the bolt in a bench vice. You should then be able to twist the clipon around without the weight turning.
May help it come out easier.
