handle bar weights removal

Default handle bar weights removal

how are the weights in the handle bars removed i need to change mine out along with my throttle tube ? anyone know how to get the weights out mines needs to be replaced .

I read on here sometime last year that soaking it with PB blaster works pretty well, as well as dishsoap. Once it gets a good soak on, wiggling in and out will eventually pop them out.

If you're talking about the weight inside the bar. I took the handle bar off and then screwed in some bolt that I didn't care if I messed the head up on. Put a little dish soap in there and then pulled on it. It takes a little work but it'll come out.

What dos takein the weight out do, and if you do , can you still put barends on it ?

well i am takin them out to change them out i they snapped when i got into my accident , its been a slow rebuild im basically done. need to go get a carbtune n sync but im thinking if i should put in a jet kit gotta see how much they gonna charge at the shop . But i think the weights help with the vibrations dont quote me on that tho
