I just bought a 93 f2... it has a 98 f3 motor, f3 guages, f3 wiring harness etc etc. I have been trying for the last couple of days to get the bike running, but no luck, only loud backfires. I have the f3 carbs on it right now, and I have all the hoses hooked up right, but I cannot find a place for the ram air. Does anyone know if the ramair will fit the f2??? Can I run without it??? I've pretty much exhausted all options to start the bike... anyone have an idea? Right now, i have the tank, airbox,etc off and I'm trying to start it with a hanging fuel bottle... do i need the fuelpump for the carbs to work properly? I'm just really lost at this point, and I could really use some help.

 

I'm not sure about the F3's, but F2's don't have a fuel pump. The gas is gravity fed so an external fuel bottle should work ok.

 

I am aware of that... but in my post I stated i wa using the f3 motor carbs and airbox.....

 

i see an aftermarket fiberglass front faring.. hes a warning.. THERE CRAP & BLOW APART around 180km/h.. yeah iv had it happen too me.. becarful!!!

Hey i got some good info for ya my bike did the same thing when i got it. But, here is what was wrong with my bike to start with. The person i bought it from jetted the carbs to a stage 3 jetting kit. Because they bought a yoshi exhaust but it was not a full system just slip on and it was getting too much air and gas and wouldnt run so they or he thought it would be a good idea to buy a carb set off of ebay and this is what could be and is probably wrong with you bike the carbs need to be rebuilt. Where did you buy the carbs from anyhow? what i did was take mine to a dealership and let the guy give it the 16000 mile tune upthey recomended and he found out the problem and it coust about 500 to have them rebuilt
