Default RE: Oil change

great instructions man, this is exactly what I needed because I need to change the oil in my bike and Im an not mechanicly inclined at all, so this will be a huge help. thanks
ORIGINAL: Nick I.

1. remove fairings. (drain plug is on the shifter side)
2. place oil pan under the drain plug.
3. remove drain plug, empy oil, replace plug.
4. cover exhaust with aluminum foil.
5. place oil pan under the filter. (filter is on the brake side)
6. remove filter, oil will get everywhere.
7. lightly coat rubber seal on new filter with clean oil. (clean surface where the filter seats)
8 install new filter, tighten, do not over tighten.
9. fill with 3.7qts of the fresh stuff. (dip stick is above rear brake lever, kinda.)
10. clean up the mess.
11. start the bike, check for leaks.
12. shut it off, let the bike sit for a few minutes, check the oil level.
13. reinstall the fairings.
14. go ride!!

Default RE: Oil change

Hey all I'm new

I changed the oil in my '92 f2 couple weeks ago.

I needed a special tool to take off the filter, filter wrench...it was on tight.

Also, I overfilled it...even though my f2 book says 4 qts of oil...it was less than that.

Maybe go to three qts and adjust accordingly?

I also took off the right side lower fairing. Good luck

Just in case any of our other friends from the north ask this question...

You are correct: 3.7 quart [US, liquid] = 3.501 liters
