Default f2 pics

Hello everyone!

Thank you for being patient, I finally got to take pics today at my Dad's house. Please tell me what you think, what's fixable and how and maybe how much?

Overall not too bad, you cannot see the clearcoat coming off the tank, where your stomach touches

Crack, left side fairing

Crack, right side fairing and lots of paint splotches

Rust pits in tank-- how do I fix them? Will they get worse over time? Just paint them over with touch up paint?

Rusty chain/custom sprocket. Still good?

Fender-- I think someone tried to cut it off to make an undertail or something

Rear tire is going bald, front's the same

Rear rim/brake assembly

Some rash on right fairing

More rash, and black splotches from tar? Paint? Looks like the bike drove through something

I don't think it's too bad. I think itspretty cool actually. Riding's fun, but fixing ain't too bad either - especially if it is cosmetic stuff.

Get it running so you can get that load off you. And then just enjoy the thing. If the tires aren't all that great, get some cheap race take-offs and you will surely love the bike! That's a good color scheme!

It really doesn't look that bad. It actually looks alot better than mine when I bought it. Course, I bought it out of a barn with a smashed gas tank and it didn't run, mostly because it only had 3 spark plugs in it. But yeah, on that chin cowl you're going to want to bolt those two pieces together before you tear off on it (which shouldn't be too long, right?) because they'll get blown back into the manifold and melt. It happened to me, and now it looks ugly.

Does it look like the bike was kept covered in a garage or was it out in the open?

Can I just cover the rust pits with touch up paint? Or should I get the whole tank repainted?

I will get the fairings off later...and see what is underneath.

Hopefully the frame isn't damaged

The forks look straight to me. I'm no expert though.

How do you fix cracked fairings? Is there such a thing as plastic weld?

Or do you just slap some bondo over it and repaint?

Well, It's about as I had imagined...I think we'll all learn from this...to NEVER buy or trade something unseen! Man, it brakes my heart knowing your sweet VFR went across for this condition F2...[:'(]
