Default How hard to mount an engine?

Well the project I'm buying has the engine currently off, I was wondering how hard is it to mount one?

How much experience do you have? It all depends how much mechanical knowledge you have, and if you can read I suggest picking up a repair manual. You can download one but I like to have the paper in font of me.

You will most likely have to put a lot back together according to your other post.

I don't have much, if any, mechanical experience, but I have a pretty good ability to figure out how things work together, and a crap load of patience. And I downloaded the manual already, it's huge!

Well if you have the manual, and you like to learn something new, and you know you are going to be dedicated to finishing it. (pet peeve of mine, don't start something and not finish it like your boss lol) id grab a buddy and start reading and dig in, 2 minds and 4 hands are always better than 1 and 2. Use the search function on here, you will have a lot of questions answered quickly. If I where you, I would make a thread of your "rebuild" or what ever you want to call it, and keep it updated. Take pics so its easy for the guys and gals to help you without having to picture or figure out what "little piece" lol you are talking about.

Here is my thread I made of repainting my bike. I asked tons of questions and kept it all in one thread vs making 10 new ones a day.

https://cbrforum.com/forum/showthrea...ght=repainting

It makes things a ton easier.

Just my opinion.

I've actually got 3 friends who have pledged their help, haha. I'm currently helping one repaint his bike, the other has me to thank for introducing him to riding, and the third got ME into riding. So I'll have plenty of man power. I'll make a rebuild thread for sure, thanks for the idea. I'll have LOTS of lil pieces I'm sure. And I promise I'll finish it, no worries.

Default Mounting Engine

even if you have the smallest amount of mechanical experience you can do it. Get a manual and follow it step by step. One thing they dont mention in the manual is BRING THE BIKE TO THE ENGINE!!! Not the engine to the bike. Much easier this way.
