Default Handlebars

My main question is about the inside of the handle bars. There is a piece of tube shaped metal that has a thread inside the CBR handle bars (Supposing it is used for bar ends to screw into) Ive only been able to remove one on my F2 but the other is stuck and need to look for a replacement. My question is, what are they called? Do they have a specific name to them?

The metal tube inside the handlebar is the actual bar weight not the bar end as most people believe.

There's lots of vids on youtube about how to remove the weights, here's one. the main problem usually is that they are badly corroded and therefore very much stuck in there and some force is needed to yank it out.

The question is why you want to remove them? Replacing them with any of those expanding rubber thing aftermarket types is a downgrade and you can get new ends from ebay in any shape and all the colors of the rainbow that has the step and will replace your original bar ends.

Thank you for the info very useful! The reason is that ive customized new straight bars to my F2 and need to get the weights out as I am putting on bar mirror ends and nothing to cling to. I think your right, my one maybe eroded. What do I search in ebay for these. I tried bar weights but only seems to come up with bar ends for some reason thats why I was losing my mind thinking there was a special name for it. Ill post pics up soon of my long awaited convertion. Ive made the bars to fit using fork tunes rather than a riser. Never needed to replace any cabling either its a perfect fit!!

Honda 53104 MV4 000 Weight B Handlebar | eBay

However those seem to come without the rubber rings and the locking clips. I'd reckon if you can somehow force the old ones out you could refurb them with a splash of paint and get new clips and rubbers from your local honda dealership parts department.

Got a pic of those bar end mirrors of yours? What sized bolt do they got? I gotta do some digging in the garage before promising anything...

Ok so this is my project so far, the bar end mirrors not available in these but I will have to update when it is light again. Now my biggest problem is cutting the wiring loom to size as i have to much of it now :P
