this happened to me the other day when i had the tank off and replaced the air filter. just make sure the clamps are tight on all the hoses, that might be your gas leak issue.

ok so i got the tank off last night to get a closer look and the gas was leaking from the breather hose on the right hand side of the air filter box, I poked around it for a bit and could not figure it out so i put it back together and now its not leaking anymore for some strange reason. I tried to get it to start turning it over countless time and finally it actually fires up not smoothly though, I didn't see but my brother said he seen blue smoke come out. While it was still running i adjusted idle control and then stopped. Sense then it will not start anymore. Actually now its frequently back firing. I'm not sure if this could play a part in any issues but when i transported it a few days ago i moved it in my van laying down and it was in that position for a good 45 minutes to and hour

well you probably have some fuel in the case mixed with the oil if you had it laying down for a while. your plugs may also be fouled out as well. thats where i would start

It has to do with the extra voltage that the car alternator puts out when the vehicle is running, the R/R usually gets fried first, Which on the CBR the R/R is weak anyways

Anyways, If you transported the bike on its side...thats a nono. Drain the oil, replace it with new oil and oil filter, get new spark plugs, and if its coming out of your air box, maybe ever a new filter..

Take your gas tank back off (remember where the hoses go when you remove them) Take a philips head screw driver and take the lid off your air box, check your air filter, My guess its drenched in fuel, from the bike being on its side...
Clean or replace it.

Re-install everything the way you found it, and have your battery nice and freshly charged and start it up!

So guys its all fixed, i ended up sending it to a local motorcycle mechanic because i was getting too frustrated with the thing and just wanna get riding.. I dropped it off this morning at 10:30 and he just called me at 9:30 and says she all fixed and purs like a kitten. Appariently 3 of the carbs were clogged and i will find out the rest of the issues tomorrrow when i go to pick it up. I can believe this guy, he only changes 25.00 per hour. The bill is only 150.00 and that includes the rest of the nick nacks he is doing like fixing the head lite and there was a small oil leak as well as some other things...... im very impressed.
Thanks guys for all your help and direction
