can anyone confirm that an f3 fuel tank is the same as our f2. I know the petcock is different.I have a chance to buy one on craigslist for $50 and just want to be sure.

 

It might depend on what year of F3 you're talking about, then again, it might not, meaning, there are some interchangeable part numbers between the F2 and '95 - '96 era F3, but not for the '97 - '98 F3, but those part numbers include color/graphics info, I think, so that might just mean that there were zero matching tanks for F2s and late model F3s, in terms of color schemes.

I would think that any tank from any of the three bike types we're talking about here, would mount to any of the other bikes, but I can't guarantee the '97 - '98 F3.

I'm sure someone else will chime in with more of a definite answer on the one bit I can't confirm.

 

I went to look at the tank from craigslist and it had to many dents. I passed. I'll keep looking for something better.

 

That sucks... if they don't have a pic, I email asking for one, that way you don't waste any gas!!
