I'm in agreement with Phil314 here. I think that engine with the funky serial number is an F3 motor. I would not have believed it if I hadn't kept looking at it. I've taken the liberty of putting your photo's next to one I stole (barrowed) from an online auction service. It's a motor from a 94 F2. But the design, font, and layout of the serial is the same from year to year. This is Honda we're talking about. There is no way an engine came out of their factory with that serial number looking like that.
Now, as for the F2 head on the F3, I have no idea. I think I'd look for an F3 head myself.

The tops of the 3's are curved, the bottom of the 5 is small relative to the top, and the zero has the breaks at the top and bottom
