I think the f2/F3 is the most comfortable bike around. i wanted to go to a mets spring training game in FL and ride down there with a bunch of friends but they all ride R1's and gsxr's and they say those bikes are really uncomfortable. especially in LONG rides

It won't be a '1 ride' thing and you're good to go. It's practice, just like everything else. You need to build up your stamina and muscles. As you take longer rides more often, the parts of you that hurt get used to the positions and strain. It's just like exercising. Only time the muscles complain is when they're forced to do something they're not used to doing. But after a while, it becomes normal.

Just about any bike is capable of long distances, the question would be; Is it comfortable for you normally? If so, you then need to be able to pace yourself - you can't simply extend a spirited ride because it will wear you out faster. I regularly do 600 mile days on a Kawasaki ZZR600 without pain. I wanted to carry more gear and be a little more comfortable so I bought a CBR100F ... and I will expect that to carry me a thousand miles in a day.
The important stuff is between your ears, not under your butt.
