Default Debating a Lock?

Yo, fellas,a while back I postedasking what's the best way to lock up the bike, and thru the postyou guys suggested a few ways, includingalarm systemsand adisc-brake locks, etc.

Though that Scorpio pager/alarm is still on my wish list, I alsoneeded something that essentially'chained the bike down'.

I think I found it.

Kryptonite Lock #997986

http://www.kryptonitelock.com/Produc...0&pid=1095

After much debate over which type of lock to go with, I decided this onemight be best considering the city I live in. I just got it in the mail today, andlet me tell you... this thing is mean.

TheU part is almost as fat as my thumb, and the locking part - just ridiculously big. And heavy too. Bolt-cutter... ain'tno way. 'Jaws of Life'... maybe. You could lock a 747 to the ground with this thing.

Slips nicely around one of the spokes of the front wheel, then snugly through the larger gap of the disk-brake,with just enough room to clamp on the locking mechanism. And if you have a nearby pole, looks like you've got a really good chance of incorporating it too using a different spot on the bike (I'll have to let you know on that one - swingarm, maybe).

I'll edit and post a pic with iton the biketomorrow.

If you are still on the market for a lock for your moto, allow me to suggest this one. Though the $4500 insurance included with the lock actually only applies to bicycles (checked w/ Kryptonite), this is clearly meant to keep stuff firmly anchored.

Best price I could find was throughthis dealer on eBay - 'Buy it Now' Less than $70 incl. shipping:

Search them for lock number 997986.

Just thought I'd give you a heads-up cause you my boiz.

+1 Kryptonite
I have the Larger size. Fits aroundboth the tire spoke and swing arm.
But its too big to fit in the trunk.

But always remember:
If they want it bad enough, there still gonna get it. [:'(]
