dash lighting question
Figured I would ask before I took the bike apart, and couldnt find anything on the search. I have a few burnt bulbs on my dash cluster, what all is involved in replacing the bulbs? It looked like I could access the back of the cluster without taking it off from the bottom, is it possible to replace the bulbs without removing it? Or do I need to remove the cluster to do this? If so, what all needs to be removed to get the cluster out. Do you recommend any better type of bulbs for replacement to have brighter dash lighting? Anything else I should know? Thought I would ask first so I wouldnt waste time. Thanks guys, I appriciate it.

RE: dash lighting question
there should be a black plastic plate under the headlamp, remove the 2 screws and un hook it from the metal fairing frame,
depending which bulbs have blown you might need to disconnect the speedo & rev counter cables, (you would have to do this anyway if you were removing the clocks) in order to get your hand in,
you should be able to pull out the bulb holders, be careful because some of the later models have printed circuits and they break for fun[:@]

RE: dash lighting question
for future reference to anyone else with this issue, i had to unplug the speedo cable at the front wheel, remove the mirrors and windshield, unbolt the 3 screws holding the cluster in, pulled it up enough to access the back of the cluster, and I changed all the bulbs with 194 replacements and they are alot brighter and look better imo. Thanks for the help btw Mike.
