Default 600 f4i gauge lighting question

Anyone have any idea how this guy did this, speedometer has light numbers instead of background

Pretty sure he just did the LED swap behind it and put full reds instead of the standard yellowish/orange. I did my swap to blue.

The numbers light up instead of the background though, its inverted in how it illuminates

it's called polarizing film. you can just buy a sheet of it and cut it to size and place it on the face of the led inside the cluster and it does exactly what is in video. I debated using it on on my cluster for my RR when I pulled it apart and desoldered/soldered new blue leds on the circuit board to change my color. I wasn't sure how well I would be able to see it on sunny days so i opted not to do it but have always wanted to try it.
