Clutch reinstall, no feel in the lever
So i recently replaced the friction plates on my bike. upon re-installation I tightened the clutch lifter bolts until there was no more thread and then snugged them down. the information how much exactly to tighten them down is not available at all and so I went with that after some poking around. Ive followed the manual in terms of reassembly and everything seems to be seated properly. when i put the clutch cover on for test to make sure the clutch worked there was no feel in the lever. after that I backed out the spring bolts and have gotten some feel to the lever. Even after this the when i test it out the bike will shift inbetween gears but when i pull the clutch in first the bike feels as though its not quiet in gear, as if a more frictioned roll than in neutral. This makes me question the position of the clutch lifter plate and the tightness of its bolts. Does anyone know the correct positioning of the clutch lifter plate and how tight the bolts should be (even though there is no torque spec in the manual)?
Not sure on your model but are there any alignment marks on your pressure plate ?
If it was me I’d strip her down again and reinstall just to make sure I hadn’t made a mistake. I’d double check how many plates I actually have and if they were in the correct order.
I cant help you with values for torquing because I do roughly the same as you. However, I can’t remember ever having my pressure plate anything but tight.
Best of luck mate
