Clutch plate replacement
Hey guys, I need some advice on replacing my clutch plates. I was told by my local dealer that I would want to replace the fiber plates and the steel plates if my clutch is slipping at all. My plates do slip, but only if I am really riding hard, and only if I am in 3rd gear or higher, above 7500 rpm.
I have never heard of a need to replace the steel plates when replacing clutch plates. Anyone have any first hand experience with this? I don't want to spend any more $$ than needed. Thanks
Jason

I wouldn't think you would need to replace the steels, but if it wasn't cost prohibitive I probably would. I would definitely replace the clutch springs too. I'd almost argue that you could replace the clutch springs and it could be all you need. Of course, if your fibers are shot then there's no way around it.
