When I try to run the clutch cable from the clutch to the lever on the handlebar it seems very tight and when I squeze the handle I have squeze it all the way down before I can feel the tension in the cable pulling the clutch. I figured I was just running the cable through the bike wrong.

On mine there's a rubber shield hovering over the top of the engine and the clutch cable goes under the frame just in front of the tank, right over top of this shield and then down the right side of the engine just inside the fairing. I've never replaced a clutch cable that didn't feel "tight" and was a absolute bugger to hook up. Also most of your clutch adjustment is going to come from the lower end of the cable. The top adjuster is just for fine-tuning. Hope this helps...

The clutch cable runs under the gas tank? I am trying to run it around the tank. I bought the bike with no clutch cable so I am just guessing how it goes.
