Is it safe to say that it's used for stunting ? With it geared up like that, there is actually less strain put on the chain due to the greater mechanical advantage of the larger sprocket (+11 is significant). You're probably doing lots of stop and go riding as well (I'm assuming naturally and we know what happens when you do that ), and at lower speeds. Again, things that don't put heavy requirements on a chain. A well made chain may come at a higher perceived price, but they'll last for thousands of miles.

I agree that the chain and sprockets should be changed together unless there's a reason not to but there rarley is. Mine HAD an RK530XSO chain on it and I only got 9500mi before it was worn out from just touring (no stunting etc) so my next chain will be a DID. RK claims 3% stretch max and the above noted chain has 6+% stretch in 1/2 the warranty life? Well taken care of lubed etc. DID recommends 2%stretch max. RK is highly regarded for sure but I won't buy one again, at least until I try some other brands first!

I have... You can buy "new" items on eBay; they're not all used. Just buy from a reputable seller.

My 2 cents...

Spend a little extra money up front and get a DID chain with some sprockets in a package and save yourself the trouble of a chain that wears prematurely.

This is what I got. (Except for the 97-98 specs)

http://www.sprocketcenter.com/p/3149...2f3-91-96.html

It comes pre-cut at the proper length with a rivet master link.

Worth the extra money in the long run, imo.

Also, the conversion kit is from 520 to 530. Unless you're going to track the bike, go 530 for the life of your chain. You'll never know the difference.
