No.Do not mod the airbox.

The difference is cams and carbs.

What's your gearing?

I use stock gearing on both the streetbike and racebike. On tracks like Road Atlanta (big hills and long straights) and Jennings GP (tight, technical and twisty with crooked/bent straights),stock gearing works well on both.I used to use different gearing @ JGP (15/45-46),but all that did was make me work more.I can't see why folks would change their gearing, there really is no need.

With a stock motor, paper air filters work best, meaning they make more power.EMGO makes one for 25 bucks retail, and works just fine.

You have access to an EGA?

I have 49 state cams and carbs if you want them.

The CAs aren't slower. They have more parts that can go bad, however. Vapor valves and such. They should be inspected every so often.

You should put stage 1 CA jets in.

Here is a link on how to remove the CA emissions crude. I was thinking about it but it is a job. Decided not to do it.
