hey, i could cut you a set of plates for prolly $40 and i would need some dimensions of what you are putting onto the adapters... these were made trying to put the pgs in about the same place as stock, with adjustment in all directions. would you be trying to put on stock rearsets?

yeah, i checked the o-rings and both sets seem to be okay, but since the head gasket was blown, that is certain to leak, and o-rings would just make that problem worse, but they are still worth replacing.

I will most likly have the head machined flat, and replace most of the wearing internals like rings bearings possibly pistons, cam chain and maybe valves.. alot of it will depend on what i can afford.

If you're doing all that, Get the shift kit. It eliminates the false neutral.

Also while you're in there check your shift forks for wear, and your 1st/2nd gear. They wear out the quickest on these bikes.

I hope you have a big wallet...Or bank account! Lol.

heh... i have neither and big wallet or bank account, however, i do have patience.

What shift kit? the honda one or the factory pro one? what is it that i am looking for? if i am gonna fork out chas i might as well upgrade it.. you know?

and how do i check for wear on my shift forks? (what are those?) the false neutral is what? see? i am not that smart.. i am just good at pretending =)

LOL- false neutral - I'm assuming that's when trying to quick shift to 2nd and you end up in neutral instead.

I did it yesterday ridding with some buddies - rolled through a yield sign onto a vacant rural road, and stood on it in 1st gear, picked the front up briefly, feathered the clutch, clicked into second and was back on the throttle to try and pick it up there - just to find myself on the rev limiter in neutral instead. Hilarity (for your riding buddies) ensues while your brain tries to figure everything out in the space of 2 seconds.

Happens every so often on the 1-2 shift for me.

Actually, he probably means a real false neutral. It happens on these bikes a lot unfortunately, in First to second, and in to third. In my bikes case no mater how hard you jam up on the way to second, you get forced out into Neutral.

so you would also reccomend the shift kit? but which one? the pro factory one or the honda one?

I've heard good reviews on the pro factory shift kit.
Havn't tried either, but looked into them.

There was a thread somewhere on here that showed good pics of the shift forks and the gears and what the wear looks like, I'll see if i can find it and link it.

I have the factory pro "quick shift" racing shift kit blah blah blah...

It's basically just a spring and a gasket for the clutch cover, heh... for $35.

It makes shifts quicker and FAR more firm. It does help eliminate false neutrals, although it takes time to break in, and makes shifting difficult at first. Once the springs in though and set, it does help notciable. It is not a fix however, and if you're serious about running your F2 forever, you'll need to do the fix right.

I am not so sure I'll be running my F2 forever, although I do love it very much.

what is the right fix? a new shift star?
