'92 Stripper Project
Added some more layers to the ABS mix.
I used some tape to make a dam.

It needs another day or so but is mostly solid. Once it is I will drill a new mounting hole through it. Then I just need to find or make a rubber grommet for it.

This side, once missing, is solid and ready to sand.
This was the first layer.

Second layer to thicken it up.

Also tested out the f4i gauge. Had to stare at the wiring diagram for a bit to see how to hook it directly to a battery to test.

It works. I'm going to remove the cover, polish the plastic to remove the scratches and then paint the bezel.
Not sure If I'm going to sell it or use it.

Ok, so what is this magic ABS mix your using? Did you just grind up a black ABS pipe in a blendtec and add ABS cement?
I've got a couple body tabs that have complete worn through from vibration. It would probably work great on them.

Just cut up some small pieces of abs sheet or plumbing pipe and mix 50/50 with abs cement. stir it a bit, let sit for 24 hours then stir some more.
I use the window screen as lath on stress pieces or to help fill in gaps or bandage long cracks. I just replaced a tab on my suzuki fairing doing that.
There is another piece I will make a mold of, then fill the mold of the mix, then bond the piece onto the right spot on the fairing.
Obviously the abs cement alone is good enough for small cracks, but the mix allows it to work as a filler.
The video I got the idea from. He uses metal window screen. I've been using the plastic kind. But the metal screen can help to hold form when creating missing spots.

For when you're taking off the tires with hand tools

I finally have an update.
Got my wheels back today.
Color is Lollypop Tangelo over royal gold.

Hope to have the new tires mounted this weekend, then start working on the bike again. I've been waiting to get the wheels mounted so I can roll the bike out of the garage and wash it, soda blast a few rust spots on the frame and apply some touch-up paint to it.
Neighbor has a power washer he said I can use. I can finally get the remaining grease buildup off the swingarm and a few other spots.

When the sun is out I will take some better pics. You can see the yellow underneath the orange in certain areas. Had to pay extra for a two coat candy, but I like the results.
