Hurricane Force: How did you mount the tail section to the subframe? I just got my tail and am trying to do the same.

There are two screws that hold each "vent" on to the tail section. I removed the top one and made a little bracket to go from there to one of the mounting tabs that was already on the subframe. It won't support much weight, definitely not a passenger. I believe the actual RR subframe runs underneath the four holes under the passenger seat. If you want to do it properly, I would suggest welding something onto the subframe that runs to the end of the passenger seat so the tail cowl can sit right on the subframe.

I am planning on making small brackets that will screw in using the stock F1 seat bolts and holes, they will be a few inches back and up to mount the seat pillon and fairing, gonna do something similar for the back latch for the seat, this will hopefully provide support for a passenger, even though I dont ride with any. this should also allow me to hook up the key rig to detach the seat as normally designed. I am attaching my fender to the 2 most rear holes the stock F1 fender bolts into as well.

a little off topic but how did you hide all the wires?

I wanted to make mine as streamlined as possible. To do this, I started by cutting off the subframe just aft of where the two bars come together so the subframe wouldn't stick out below the tail section. After that, I made an undertail out of ABS plastic covers the whole bottom of the tail section. My wires just run between the undertail and the seat. Here's a picture. I also relocated the rear brake fluid reservoir to clean up the look a little bit more.

If I didn't have an undertail, I would probably wrap the bundle of wires really well with electrical tape or shrinkwrap to protect and camoflauge them, and then zip tie the bundle along the length of the subframe.

I used the same brackets for the seat to mount the tail. I drilled a hole on each side and boltedit to the pasenger peg holesin the back.

I just got an RR tail to install on my F3. Should be fun. Hoping I can modify the seat like you did since I have a rear seat for it but no front. We will see how it works out.
