Haha. Thanks. The rearstand was about $25 at Home Depot. I still need to make the brackets for it.

I got the tail from the classifieds section of this forum for $60 shipped. The taillight was another $15, also shipped. I don't know if aftermarket fairings are as good as stock. I would assume so, but I have heard of some problems with fitment of aftermarket plastics. However, if you have to custom fit it to a Hurricane anyway, it shouldn't make much of a difference.

Thats going to look really cool!Where did you get the RR tial ? I am going to do the 01-03 tail swap to my 06 F4i . (inspired by Champf4i). I have only been able to find aftermarket on e-bay. Are they as good?
I got one off ebay for $18. just keep an eye on ebay and the tails, its what i did.

Thanks guys that helps, I definitely won't get aftermarket now and I will keep watching e-bay. I just got back from the Toronto Motorcycle Show where I boughtthe under tail for the 01-03 so I committing myself to the project. I'll post pics in the proper part of the forum...........Take a while though$$

Do you have any photos of the undertail you made? also where do you get the plastic? Conversion look great. I have been completing a similar project with my '88 cane using an '04rr tail, sub-frame and seats. Next is undertail and exhaust mounted under the seat also.

Check out all the pictures here: http://picasaweb.google.com/Jason54/...ersionFinished

Here is a pic of the undertail:

I got the ABS plastic from Tacoma Plastic Supply in Tacoma. A 4'x4' sheet was $15. Read the comments in my photo album for more info.

Ya, fiberglass would definitely look better, but I didn't want to spend that much time and money on it.

how did you secure the seat with the new tail section. I'm going to do the same conversion and would like to use my seat as well.

Is that rear seat going to be functional at all? I may throw a f4i or RR split seat tail on one of my bikes soon.
