New guy 88 Hurricane

Thanks.
Don't want to steal this thread. Just wanted to show an old guy can still do it.
I bought the 919 because of the upright riding position due to my bad back. If you followed my F1 "RR" build thread you will see that I have had multiple back surgeries. Sadly I can only ride my CBR's for short runs because of this.
I just sold the 919 because it scared the crap out of me a few times. It was so powerful that the front wheel was hard to keep on the ground. In my twenties that would put a smile on my face, now I feel uncomfortable. It was an awesome motorcycle. One of the very best I've ever owned. Smooth, comfortable and very fast.
I also have way too many motorcycles. I can't ride them all enough to justify having so many.
I'm working to finish my 1975 Norton 850 so I have a rider that I can enjoy. It's been a longer project than the F1 "RR" but it's my dream bike having owned one new. I've done some very important upgrades to make it safe and reliable without losing the essence of a Norton.
Here's an older picture of the Norton with the F1 "RR" conversion bike and the 919 in the shop.

An early happy birthday to you Dennisgb. I hope you have an exceptional one. It's nice to see other mature riders still getting out there. I know here I get the odd strange look when I hop off a bike and remove my helmet, it's as if it's popular to think that older blokes should sit in the lounge chair at home rather than get out on two wheels and enjoy.

I just noticed your photo, very impressive.
An old 1951 Ariel Red Hunter 500 has come up for sale not far from home. I have put an offer in on it so fingers crossed.
The old bikes have a very heavy attraction to us older fellows.
The wife might not be very happy as I have also put an offer in on a 2004 Limited Edition CBR1100xx Blackbird. I will be ecstatic if I get both but will definitely have to soften the blow to the wife.
Your floor in the workshop actually caught my eye and I found it very interesting.

Flowers won't stop the things that will probably get thrown at me.
She spluttered last week with me buying another cbr1000f especially after seeing that it had slid down the road.
I've been interested in getting a blackbird for a while but had not seen any of the limited edition ones around so when this one popped its head up and with 18 thousand genuine kilometres on it, well I nearly fell over.
The Ariel ell that's one of those rare finds do can't let it go past.
It will cost me big time in taking her on a holiday but it will be worth it
