Yeah the forks did look a little bit different to me too. I'm not sure where they came from. They're Showa forks though. I ordered a headlight bracket yesterday for 38-42mm sized forks so hopefully it fits.

Ya the 87-90 forks just have a schrader valve to add air pressure. Newer forks have the adjustments for rebound and dampening on top like what you got.

Thats interesting. I wonder if the whole front end is from another bike. I guess I'll find out when I got to change the brakes haha.

The bike will be up and running for sure this weekend. I'm painting the tank Friday night and putting it all back together on Saturday. I'll take some pictures for sure.

Its a newer front end, the upper triple is different and thus spaced out more. try to find the part number off the front wheel and that wil probably lead you to which year cbr front end is on it.

I forget to look at the triple as I was really rushed this past weekend and didn't get to spend much time on the bike.
But I did take it out for a spin. It runs really strong just slow. I couldn't get the front wheel to come up for nothing. So I'm hoping to get a sprocket kit for it and maybe that will change things.
Here's a picture of how it sits as of now. Still gotta get the exhaust put back on and get a headlight. But its not too far from being ready.

I know its been quite a while since I've updated my thread but I have recently began doing some work on the CBR. Since I just went on break, I've done quite a bit of work to the bike and trying to get it road worthy and ready for next riding season.
Here's some of the stuff I've done:

New Bluebox gauge
New Front Shinko tire
Slightly Used Michelin Pilot 2ct rear
Dominator headlight
Sprocket Cover

Its coming together pretty well. I'm excited about the bike and can't wait to keep doing more. I have quite a bit of wire tucking ahead of me. I'm planning on putting some dirt bike bars on it and taking it to a shop to get the carbs cleaned and sync'ed.
Let me know what you guys thing.

Here's some pictures:

Just seeing this thread, but very nice. That's one hell of a way to paint a frame. I need to paint the frame on my F4i, but was dreading taking apart the entire bike... this might be a consideration.

Yeah it was a little time consuming wrapping everything up but took a whole lot less time than it would have if I'd have dropped the engine and what not. Turned out pretty good too. Much Better than it did look.
