Default generator ???

Hi guys , left the cbr 600 standing for a while result flat battery, any way charged the battery up too 12.8 started her up no problem. But !! there seems to be a very low charge coming out of the generator to the battery , rev the bike and theres no rise in charging. Switch everything on the volts drop to 12.1, switch everything off and the volts rise to 12.8 ( just battery recovering ???). Put another reg/rec on the bike still no change. Rev the bike and the volts just seem to stay the same across the battery, thought running the engine would draw off the battery gradually flattening it. Any ideas ??? or is it me ??

if you already tried the reg/rec then test the stator too. if you have a clymes manual there is a very detailed section for testing both of these.

i dont remember what is was supposed to be. i do remember you are supposed to check for continuity between the yellow wires(3) and the battery. i have a manual and will see if i can get pictures of it later, or ill scan it here at work tomorrow. that way you know what to check.

Well i finally sorted it out, alternator ok, charging coils ok, regulator ok, battery ok. Turns out it was a corroded connection on the starter solenoid where the live feed goes in ?. Weird though as the bike still started and ran ok just stopped charging up the battery. So i put a replacent 400 one on I had lyeing around, cut off the block connector and replaced it with individual electrical spade connectors on the 4 wires going in ( red/white, red, green, yellow). Started her up and straight away 14.8 volts !! jobs a good one !!. Only took me 2 bloody days to find it !!!!!!!!!

thanks for all your help guys
