what manual are you using? the factory honda manual does show 2 different wiring schematics. and i do know there are subtle differences as those who have done 87-90 engine transplants have run into specific problems with wiring looms.

airbox, huh? not many configs there, only removed, holy, or sealed.

Holy airbox, Batman!
'91 CDI and wiring loom? Is that going to work or is there a UK model '91 same as US model '87-'90?

Ahh I see.. will check what manual it is tonight.. its an old black and white one..

With the airbox it has a ali cover.. I had to drill and cover up many holes to get it running as best as possible..

LOL..

Im lost now.. thought the 91 loom should work ok since the 90 cdi is the same as the 91?

It was this item number on evilbay 390070130253 - got it cheaper than that though!

i don't know how close the loom from a 1000 is to a 600.

as for a '91, i don't know either since stateside, the hurricane/f1 ran from 87-90. maybe across the pond they sold it for another year? doubt it.

have to check the fiche to see if the 1000 and 600 use the same cdi and if so what years.

Installed new cdi and still have the same problem..

Here is a video to give you a better idea of the problem.. lots of vibrations and the camera was mounted upside down..

I put a drilled airbox cover on yesterday and got an 8000rpm flatspot. With the stock cover in place it pulled cleanly to redline.

Yesterday -

Tried various configurations of holes on the air box with no luck.. however did notice that with about 18 holes it ran and sounded better - guess this was the sweet spot. But it still refused to rev out while in gear..

Today -

Fitted the standard box and it ran the same!!

Looks like it will need some dyno tuning time.. can anyone think of any more ideas? Or know anywhere that will do the dyno tuning in the south east at a good price?

Cheers

WAHHOO!!

Took the rest of the carbs apart to find that I had not screwed in a main jet properly and it was lying underneath the float!!!!

Took it for a short ride and I have power to the redline!!

:d

Thanks for your help peeps

Will look into dynojets and sock filters once I have some spare cash..
