Question Electrical issue!? Help!?

So, this morning while riding back from my job I experienced what I believe to be an electrical issue. I stopped at a local dunkin donuts to warm up, after having done so (approx. 15 min stop), I jumped back on the bike an started her up.. doing so I noticed in the starting process that non of my gauges turned on, my headlight did but none of the gauges did. I then checked blinkers and break lights, those too also were not working. I looked under the seat at the fuses that I was able to locate (still new to the CBR so dont know where everything is) Those fuses seemed to be intact, I found a spare 30amp fuse next to the small box that I had just chest, however no place to put the 30amp fuse..

My question is what would cause all of the electrical on my bike, with the exception of my headlight and high beem to not work? and second where is the 30amp fuse located on the bike, so I may check it ... and or replace it.

Any input would be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks

has your head lite been alterd?
if it is and is direct wired now (dont go out when you hit starter button)
then check your starter botton by trying to pull it out see if it is hung up a little and not completely releasing.
I thought I had a electrical prob before and it was my button not fully releasing(starter would stop but no lites).

Download a service manual.

The main fuse is located under the right-side cover. This feeds the main fuse panel.

I agree that it could be your handlebar switches.

It's not the 30 amp fuse. If it was, then nothing would work. I would check the connectors under the fuse panel which is under the left panel next to the handle bars. Check all the connectors since one comes from the ignition switch. Check all the fuses, too. Do you have a meter? You will need one for this.

Hey Guys, thanks for the posts.. me being the noob/idiot that I am (in all fairness I am new to this lol) I failed to check 1 of the fuses under the seat, as luck would have it, it was one of the important ones. The one that controlled all of the lights and gauges.. Im kinda surprised that I had a fuse go.. is that normal? I just got the bike.. it is 10 years old, but a very solid bike. Had 2 friends that have been riding for close to 5-7 years each take a look at it and gave me the 2 thumbs up.. just kinda surprised, an apprehensive that something else might go.. hopefully when Im not on the road lol

Thanks again all and I am working on getting some pics of the bike up soon.

If your bike is only 10 years old then it is most likely an F3 or F4. This forum section is for '87 - '90 CBR600F. You will get better answers in the right section.
