Default removing heat shield?

heys guys i'm after a bit of advice,
i'm fitting a after market exhaust and in the process i'll be removing the heat shield, now with the heat shield removed do i have to protect the undertail with some heat tape or what have you guys done with yours?
its a '05 model

my exhaust came with a stick on heatshield, yours didnt?

a lot of them dont
sato, arata, neither of those come with any of that
of course they run cool enough that they dont really need it either

nah my exhaust didn't come with it, its a jardine(carbon fibre)so i prob wont need it but i'll just throw some tape on there for piece of mind.

heat tape and do a nice job putting it on dont rush
