Default Heat shield

Hey i am new to this website and have a question. I have been riding a sense i was 16 but i just didnt know if this was a good idea or not. I was woundering if i should take the heat shield off? The one that raps around the exhaust. I dont want to melt the plastic or anything..

that plastic is not that low quality that it will melt!!
Go ahead do your thing...i ride like that!!!its just teh seat is gonna feel little more HOT!!

i wouldnt take it off. i have seen probably ten how tos or what do i dos around here to know that

what you could do is simply take it off, cut it so the sides arent showing, and reshape it. throw it back on and you have the best of two worlds.. good looks and a protected tail.

look up the thread $6 project... or $6 paint job... something like that.. it has like 5 pages and its a nice write up that includes that
