Default Question for 08 CBR owners.

well i have an 08 CBR and just wanted to ask if when you guys start your bikes in nuetral and shift into 1st, do you guys have a moderate kick into first? by moderate kick i mean the bike jolts a bit but does not jump forward. other than that it shifts great im just concerned about the initial shift into 1st gear from nuetral.

They all have a pretty good clunk into first, but as long as the bike doesn't want to go afterwards, you're fine. If it were to pull while the clutch lever was all the way back then you would have clutch issues, but it doesn't seem the case.

let it warm up and the lower the RPMs the less the clunk will be.

My '07 has the same problem, sometimes there'sa nastykick when I engage 1st gear. I've noticed that if I give the engine a couple quick revs (to 4000 RPM or so) before notching the shifter down, the kick is greatly reduced. I'm not sure if this will work for the '08, but it seems to help on my bike.
