Default question for the ipod owners

totally random question. why can't i listen to my ipod while it's connected to my computer for charging? i only ask because i always listen while online, but it won't come on while charging...and it just went dead [:@]. i'm pretty much "computer dumb" so is there some way that i can change the settings to allow me to listen while charging? thanks

edit: forgot to add. it's a 60gb video (if that matters)

TX is right, you can only listen to it thru iTunes while it's charging. Or you can go buy a shelf system that charges while it plays.

it has a small memory card inside where it stores all the info (kinda like a miniature hard drive). basically what it boils down to is that, the mini processor inside cant do to functions at once. think of it like a shop vac that has a reverse switch, you cant make the thing blow out our, and suck in at the same time. thats about the easiest way to explain it without getting to technical.

Step 1: Download iTunes.
Step 2: You'll figure it out from there.

If you want all of the songs on itunes on your pod then go into ipod options a select automatic update. This will allow itunes to update it when ever you plug in your pod. If you only want some songs and not all of them then go into options again and turn off automatic update(cant remember the option name). Then go back to itunes. From there find the pod name in the right hand side column. To select a song to put on your pod click and drag the song from itunes and drop it onto the pod name. This will add it to the pod. When finished press the eject button next to the pod name and your finished. Sorry if this is a little confusing, Im terrible a giving directions. Hope this helps.

i hate iTunes just becouse it sucks. most all mp3 players work just buy connecting them in. u will have a icon in my computer then open it and find the music folder it already has. then just copy paste it to ther. done.

because my girlfriend's brother and i set up my ipod at his house. he has about 7500 songs, i have about 100. and we all know that 7500>100. so the music on my ipod is different than my computer.
