was it the oil light or a FI light
a lot of times by the time the oil light comes on it is already too late.
check your oil first make sure you have any
when was the last time you changed your oil and filter

under the tank probably means valves.
thats a tough one really
i mean if you always changed oil and filter on time and its not leaking it will have to be torn apart to diagnose.
have you done any recent mods
i know when i did the pair mod i left the flame arrestors in and it rattled like crazy until i took them back out.

okay yes it was very low on oil....but i toke it for a test ride after adding oil and at idle it did not knock, but when i get past 5k rpm the knocking noise comes back ???
^^ The damage might have already been done. How long/far do you think you've ridden the bike with it low on oil?
But another problem you have to look at is WHY it was low on oil. If the engine ate that much oil without it leaking.........you have big time issues. (but if it was eating oil, usually it burns it, and you should have noticed blue smoke out the back.) It might have been leaking, but you should have noticed that too everytime there was an oil puddle underneath the bike. The only other thing I could think of is that is might have not been filled up properly the last time the oil was changed.
Honestly, I would take it to a shop/dealer and have it checked. Tell them it's knocking. Don't tell them it was low on oil, or they'll just use that as an excuse for not doing a thorough check. Let THEM tell you what's wrong with it, and go from there.
But like baxsom said, if the light was already on, and you were running it with little oil, the damage has already been done.
Good luck man.
