Default Flashing red light

Hey guys

I have never noticed if my 1000RR has always done it but ive just noticed a red light flashes on the instrument cluster when the bike is off...it does it when the key is in and out of the ignition...Can someone please tell me if this is normal and why it does it?...Or if it isnt normal and how to stop it.

Thanks
Luke
