Default Frame Swap

OK, I'm a newbie here, but have a specific question. I'm a Ducati guy normally, but while looking for a track bike, stumbled on a wrecked '07 CBR1000RR with a broken frame. The forks, triples and front wheel are bad, but fairly easy swap outs. My big question is about frame compatibility. What models and/or years coulod I use as replacements? Is the F4i or 600RR the same frame? How far back do I have with the same frame style? I can get 600 frames from '03 on up fairly cheap (if $1800 is chjeap anyway) but the '07 1000 frames seem kinda scarce. Thanks in advance for any help.

Check e-bay. but watch out for sellers who will not divulge the VIN#. might be off a stolen bike.

Default RE: Frame Swap

From what I know only an 06 or 07 1000rr Frame will work. There's a good possibility the 04-05 will work also. I just finished rebuilding my bike from a similar state of dissrepair. http://www.1000rr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43438

Id honestly just buy a new frame from the dealer, they are cheaper than ebay easy to register and brand new so you know its straight.

I bought the Repsol Silver frame for $1250 I could have gotten the standard black one for $1100.

Total into the bike was about $3500.
