Question Damage control

Hey guys, I crashed my 05 Repsol this summer and am starting to repair it. The plastic is trash, as is the sub-frame. Frame and suspension are intact and the motor is fine except what Honda calls a water joint on the left side. It is broken, the 2 mounting bolts all that retains it. 1 is very accessable, the other is right behind the frame. My plan is to remove the exhaust and the mounting bolts and let the motor rotate down, hinging at the swing arm pivot. Any Advice?

Remove the radiator and headers first, it will allow the motor to rotate further w/o damaging the radiator. Make sure you keep track of where the spacers go, they are different sizes.

Red face Damage Control cont...

Thanks for the advise on the engine pivot delima. Anybody got a good line on aftermarket plastic? I've been looking at Auctmarts and the other Ebay stuff, but I don't know any one that has actually used any.

I havent personally used the Hong Kong auctmart plastices but I know 2 people who have. They do not always fit perfectly but if you take your time you can get them to fit pretty well. They look great once installed tho. There is also a ton of different styles to choose from.

I have a set of the HK fairings from an ebay seller named stylechoose. The fit was fine but I've melted the lower near the exhaust manifold. The Inferior plastic just couldn't hold up to the heat. With that said, I'd still buy another set.

I heard good and bad .... some fit great .. .some fit like sh#@$ ....sometimes the paint matches (if not buying a full set).... sometime it don't .... as for the melting, use heat tape!! They're really hit or miss!!
