Default rim damage

Last year, towards the end of the riding season i wastraveling @60 miles an hour around a turn when right in my path was a piece of a branch; more like a log with about a 5 inch diameter. At this momenti was leaned over pretty good and had just enough time to stand the bike up straight to run over this log. now when the front wheel made contact it raised about8-9 inches off the ground and upon landing i went right back into the lean to finish the turn.(truly says something about the bike'shigh level of stability!!)After this i parked the bike to realize the front rim was pretty bent, andthe tire had lost all the airi was naturally pretty pissed so i let the bike sit for a month, then one really nice day i wanted to ride so i took out a rubber mallet and started hitting the wheel sure enough after 5 minutes of wailing on it i noticed thedent was starting to come out so i continued for another 10 mins and got it out pretty good i filled the tire with air and it held and still is holdin pretty good just have to put 10 lbs in like once a month. im so glad i decided to not buy another rim, @ 500 i was very reluctant to do so. i dont have any bad vibes going down the road and @160 travels straight and true. So if you bend your rim slightly, try to straighten the thing before makeing the purchase!!!
