clicking noise (in gear - stopped)
2006 CBR1krr, 15K miles (brand new chain/sprocket and bearings). I think it's been happening even before the upgrades but when comming to a stop, i'll pull in the clutch and put my foot down. When i'm still in gear stopped, you can hear a off-tick like every 2 to 3 seconds. It seems to happen more when i sway the bike slighty from side to side (i get bored at stop lights haha).
Also today my temps has hit 228, (in 90 degree wheather). Tried to give as much information as possible. Anyone might know? (i know 1000cc's are loud bikes, but it seems like something)
(valve adjustment - not done yet
oil change - about 3K miles ago and 6 months)

Does it stop ticking when you take it out of gear? What about out of gear with clutch in/out?
I wouldn't worry about the temp unless the fan isn't kicking on. Mine usually kicks in about 220F but if I'm in stop and go it'll sometimes rise to 227F before the fan starts making a dent in the heat buildup.

So... Thought I'd post an update on the noise.
The culprit?
I had recently replaced my rear tire and when putting it all back together I thought the chain looked a little loose so I adjusted it.
Anyhow, the chain did not have enough slack in it.
Turns out my buddy with an 06 1KRR had the same problem a while back. Turned the axle locks in about .06" tightened it up and no more noise.
All is well again...

WHAAAOOOOOO, dont do any of that, I had the same problem before and I thought it was all those things stated in previous threads. After almost haveing a nervous breakdown from the dealer telling me it will cost about $1500 to fix....come to find out when I replaced the sprockets the clicking noise was due

THE BARING IN THE REAR WHEEL. IT SOUNDED LIKE THE NOSIE WAS COMING FROM THE clutch and engine area. Not so.........Check or replace the baring in the rear wheel. I was missing some and some where even discentagrating (sp). Fraction of the cost to check out before you start dealing twith the clutch and engine!
