you want to lube the rollers that make contact with the sprockets. the o-rings are sealed (presumably) so lubing them won't do a whole lot.

Cleaning of chains is highly debated subject. Diesel fuel, kerosene, WD40, soap and water, or specialty cleaners .... ???

WD40 does a great job, but allegedly can attack the O-rings in your chain, causing it to lose the special lubricant, leading to accelerated wear. Many folks use it however without any reported problems.

Personally, I use Motorex chain cleaner and a stiff brush, with good results.

There are alot of great postings on this subject on this forum, and other articles on the internet, including a few on the chain manufacturer's sites. Suggest that you search and decide what is best for you, but you can't make a mistake if you use a specialty cleaner designed for O-ring chains.
