Default Can I cut this chain and make it original length?

Hello friends while I'm changing my rear tire id like to remove this swing arm extension, but I do not want to buy a new chain and sprockets yet . Since they look in good condition

My question is can I cut it and make it the right length?
Any tips and tools I need to get this done if it's possible?

Thank you in advance 🙂

Does the chain have a "master link" - one with split pin on it already? If not then sure - grind the heads off the pins, push them out, shorten the chain and use a master link to rejoin it.

If it's a rivited chain, then you need to either buy the correct size master link, or have it pinned - might be easier to take (the bike) to your local shop to do that than buy the pinning tool - often the chain has to be threaded before it is pinned.

That chain looks like it needs a good soak in diesel or mineral spirits to clean it up while you have it off the bike.

If you want to remove part of the chain, start by measuring the length you need.
