Default RE: Called Dealership

I had a similar experience. The local Honda/Suzuki/Kawasaki dealer in town (which I refuse to buy a bike from ever) had a part that I needed and didn't want to wait for, or drive an hour to my dealer to get it. I walked in with my gear on and got the part, and on the way out stopped to look at some of the 1000RR's sitting on the showroom floor. A salesman came up and flat out said, "why are you looking at those, you should be looking at THOSE." --And he pointed to the Hayabusa. I laughed with a hint of sarcasm. But before I could even open my mouth to reply, the dude was bashing the RRs (both 600 and 1000's) left and right. He finished with "only a jackass would buy crap like that."................hmmmm..........

........well, instead of busting him on this prematurely, I played along, asking him why. He told me that the Suzuki's (he was obsessed with that Busa for some reason) have dominating craftsmanship, and the Honda's have the lowest reliablity and lowest resale value of any motorcycle...WTF?........that's when he asked me what I rode.......LOL!

"So, what are you riding?" asked the jackass. "Well......". I replied. "I bought the totally unreliable, piece of **** 600RR"....saying this while looking him square in the eye. He turned pale in the face, suddered a bit and tried to counter-argue everything he had just said. I shook my head, put my helmet on and walked out the door.

Never, not even for a part, will I step foot in that dealer ever again.

I think the '07 Gixer and R1 will kick the crap out of the RR , but that still wouldn't change my choice on ride.
I love my Honda [&:]

I would much rather ride a bike that I didn't see every three blocks being ridden by some squid with a tank top and shorts on. YOu wonder why you see many older hondas and not Gixers and YZFS.

I couldn't care less what anyone says about my bike. I bought it cause I like it. Screw what everyone else thinks, if they can't see that the black 061KRR is the most beautiful bike ever produced then it sucks to be them.

I couldn't agree more. I loved my gixxer 750 when I had it, but the 1krr is way better. I live in a college town and every kid in a 20 mile radius has a new gixxer 600 or R6. I have a blue and yellow 06 and every time I stop somewhere I'm always asked if my paint scheme is custom. I just put an RS-5 carbon cone yosh, f/e kit, and CA tail light on so I'm liking it even more now. Now it's time for SS lines, new pads, and tires. I'll be ready for the Gap when it's warm.

I had a dealer try to tell me that a gixxer 750 is NOT any faster than the 600, it just weighs more. Dee da dee

I think most (not all) of them are just sales people that don't even have a nice ride of their own - so they don't even know.

If someone asks me, I always tell them, go with the one you like. Two of my friends bought gixxer 1k and tried to get me to do the same. No way! I like and respect their bike, but I LOVE my RR!
