Default Break in suggestions

Just picking up my new 08 on friday. Any suggestion on how to break it in?
I have always followed factory break in on other bikes but have heard they may apply to older manufacturing method more than todays.

1. Follow the recommendations in the owner's manual.
2. Run the **** outof it as soon as you set your *** on the seat.

Choose whichever one of the above that you're comfortable with, because you'll get answers that are similar and everything in between. Oh, and change the oil and filter after 2 miles or (shudder!) wait 'til it's got the full 600 on it.

I will change the oil way before the 600 mile mark... maybe after 20 miles or so. I don't like the idea of all the leftover metal from manufacturing floating around in the engine any longer than that.

Got it home today and I can live with the break in recommendationsfrom Honda... No HARD acceleration or FULL THROTTLE operation for the first 300 miles. They don't putrpm caps orextend the break in for 1000 miles anymore.I must say it was an excellent ride home and thebreak inwill be done by Sunday. Ride Safe
