I use this method kinda.

My bikes never see the rev limiter.

I do change the oil and filter after the first 20 miles, then oil at 500 and oil and filter again at 1k. then just do every 3k.

Let the bike come up to operating temp before revving it up too much.

Honda says just stay away from hard starts for the first 300 miles, but does not mention anything about RPM limits.

you "love these threads"... I will take that as sarcasm.

Just keep in mind that some of us are new to all of this and are just seeking information. I do appreciate your attachment.

My 600 rr has around 350 miles on it and i have been changing my speeds often and using my rpms up to about 7k ...there are so many responses to this its crazy. Nowadys honda builds these bikes so well and race ready its amazing you dont have anything to worry about. The first oil change is the best thing to do at 600 to 1000 miles. Dont wide open throttle for the first couple of miles and you will be fine.
The shop i go to has a sponsered 2006 rr and they have raced it since 17 miles on it till now with 2000 plus miles on it and has had no problems and the internals are the same as day one. It kicks some major ****

this will probably go back for fourth for a while but personally i pretty much listen to what honda says for the most part because in my opinion im gonna listen to the people that built the bike even if they are playing it safe i can stand not romping on it in the first however many miles plus they go by faster than u can imagine

There are quite a bit of threads on here on this subject. Do a search on break-in's, you should have at least 10 different threads on this. You will find people telling you to ride it hard, you will get people telling you to gently break it in. I do the gently method. (because I've never heard of anyone's engines blowing up by gently breaking it in.)

I broke-in one of my engines (in my car) with the "ride/drive it hard" method. Let's just say that the #1 piston had a hole in it, and 4 of the 16 valves made dents in the top of the crankcase after 250 miles...........so, I'm NOT a believer in the "ride/drive it hard" break-in method.

But that's just me. I would do some research on it and see what other's have to say as well. The hardest part will be making the decision. Good luck man.
