Default Break in

Hey. i have had a couple of CBRs before this one but this is the first new one that i bought.(07 600RR). I am about to hit the 600 mile break in and was wondering if I can open it up or should i wait untill i bring it in for the 600 mile service before I bring the RPMs up. Any past experiences and advice is much appreciated. Thanks

07 Manual says 300 mile break in, then you're good.

Default RE: Break in

Do not 'Open it up' while you've got that break-in fluid circulating in the engine. also, unless you're completely mechanically inept, do not take it into the dealership to get the service done unless you are getting a REALLY REALLY good deal (Cost of supplies MAX). it's a joke. change the oil and filter, adjust the throttle and clutch cables, check the front and rear axle and brake torque values, and perform a general visual inspection of the bike. you know what to look for, you've been around the block a few times.
