bike wont rev past 4000!!!
so here's the deal
have a 2007 1000 rr with 110 miles on it. just bought it thursday night.
i took it down the street and tried to get on it but once i hit 4000 rpm it's like my throttle failed.
if i gradually got up to 4000 i can go past it and up, but when i try to stomp on it, it wouldnt go past.
i have to throttle down a bit and then continue with a gradual build up
what the hell man?
anyone else had this prob or know whats wrong with it?
the bike is used, but has only 110 miles on it with no engine mods

There's a lot of things it could be, but the main thing "wrong" that I see is that the bike hasn't been ridden. 110 miles is about one tank of gas and the bike's 3 years old?! Have you put fresh gasoline in it?
i then its ****ed up fuel also but I'm not a mechanic so I'll take their word for it.
i think they just want more money outta me cuz i called and said i was picking it up and going elsewhere since its been a week and no answer to what's wrong with it.
oh well, whatever.

I bought my 07 last august (2009), had 0 miles on it at the shop.
They had to add all fluids as it had never been ridden, then I drove it 230 miles from the shop to my house and parked it for 10 months, and just took it out last month and ran like a champ (all i did to it was add fuel stabilizer).
Did you put the 100 miles on the bike, or did it have that when you bought it recently? I would query the previous owner if you have their contact info and ask them if the miles are recent or not.
