Default 1000RR Canadian/USA comparison question

I have heard that the USA CBR1000rr does not have the same ponies as the Canadian CBR1000rr. Has the US model been detuned? Does anyone know if this is true or not. If true, why?

Thanks

i am not sure if the canadian version is the same as the european version but if it is then yes there is a difference. the timing on the us version has been changed to meet certain (useless) standards. it seems as theough the bazazz z-bomb corrects this issue rather easily.

i have one installed on my ride and it "feels" like it has more power. or maybe i am just imagining it. either way, there is a product or two to correct the issue.
