My '08 1000RR handles better and feels lighter than my '06 600RR did...by far. The power is insane and under complete control if that makes sense.

I had a 954 and went to an 06 1KRR. Way more power, more composed in corners, better all around bike. Despite being heavier than the 954, it doesn't feel it. Get a smoking deal on an 06'07 and don't look back.

How much different does a 07 feel compared to a 08? I sat on an 07 and didn't really care for the feel as much as the feel of a 600rr? DFW honda didn't have any 08 1krr's assembled. I'll stop in tomorrow and see if they have one put together yet.

If things work out I will more than likely buy a bike but I'm kind of stuck between the two bikes. I sold my 900 back in fall of 2006 and am looking to getting on either. The new 600 sounds great from what I've read but I'd hate to get on it and miss the power. The other kick is that insurance is only $8 more a month and you can get a 08 1krr on ebay for a grand more than a 600.

I have 3000 miles on my 1K in 6 weeks and NO regrets at all. This is the bike for me for the next 2 years (I get a new bike every 2 years).

Its all personal preference no matter what anyone says. Some like Yamaha, some like Suzuki and We of course like the Honda. If you go to any forum for any brand the will tell you the same. I have Yamaha Suzuki and Honda and I ride my Honda the most due to the fact it is more fun and to me is more comfortable to ride. It by far takes corners and rides better than my yamaha and has the HESD which i like. The body style is also personal preference some like the 04-07 and some like the 08-09 model i for one think the 08-09 looks cheap but once again personal preference. I could have bought any bike in any model for any price and I chose the 1krr it is a bad bike. Take some test rides, and to your comment it will blow that 900 off the track and street.

Like Josh, I preferred the 04-05 CBR1000RR, but I am considering eventuallygetting a new one, probably in 2010 depending on what they do for a 2 year update, and how much I have in mods on this one by then. I am quite happy with my current bike though. My previous bike was an '01 929, and this one feels so much more stable and planted, despite the weight. The power difference will shock you.

I say if you like the style of the new ones,go for it. I haven't heard a singlereal complaintabout them. I still have to bug my friend about riding his until he lets me have a go, but I'm afraid I'll fall in love. There was a good Firebladeold vs. new comparison in the Aug. '08 issue of the UK mag SuperBike. Worth taking a look at it if you can find the issue.

From what I have heard of the blackbirds, they are a bit sluggish in the corners comparatively but overall pretty decent bikes, especially coming from a 900rr.

Expect to be completely blown away.

Pulls like a raped ape and throws into corners like a 600. (edit)An '08 that is!

If you can wait, get an '08 (lol). Wait until the '09s are released and you'll be able to get a good deal on an '08. Words just can't describe the '08-'09.

My analogies are as follows: '08 v. '06 = Porsche v. bus,'08 v. '04 = Porsche v. tank, and '08 v. blackbird = Porsche v. locomotive. LOL

I sat on a 08 today and it was more comfortable but still not quite as leisure as the sofa of a 900. Would a corbin or other solve this?

Sorry for the cell phone pics...

Is there anyone on here with that color that painted the silver? It looks fine in pictures but not that great in person. Flat black or even the burgundy would look better imo.

(sorry to threadjack I'll make my own if you want?)
