Default Model Comparison

Hello everyone,

This is my first message on the site. I've been reading the different threads for a while now and I'm really learning a lot of great things.

Anyway, I'm in the market for a bike. I'm looking to spend around $7500. I'm leaning towards the CBRrrbut am keeping my options open on any sport bike in the 600CC range. I have a moderate amount of motorcycle driving experience. When compared to the Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki, what are some of the advantages of a CBR over them? It seems to me, that in doing some research, that Honda has a more complete and balanced bike. Can anyone that has owned another bike give me some input and possibly steer me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for any advice.

That's all fine and dandy, but it really doesn't mean squat if you don't tell us what you're after in a sport bike.

Well the main things I'm looking for are the glaring differences that separate the bikes in that class. I'm looking for something with a good power band. I plan on riding a lot with friends that have bikes, so comfort is a somewhat important requirement for a sport bike that is, and reliability.

Essentially, I wouldn't mind some feedback from those who have gone from gixxers or ninjas to cbrs or vice versa, and tell me what they liked and what they didn't like about each bike. I haven't had the luxury of making a comparison as of yet.

i can ride for about 400 miles before i get a little sore on the 600RR. i have yet to find a superSport that is touring class comfortable. as far as performance goes, they are all so close to one another, it won't matter what you get. i opt for a liniar power delivery of the CBR over the somewhat spiky R6. that kawi Ninja ZX6R (or older 6RR) is a lot like the CBR as is the GSXR. when dealing with these bikes, it's important that you go in knowing what you want out of the bike and what each one will give you.

Thanks for the info. The bike I'm looking at is a 2004 CBR RR with 3,900 miles. Asking price is $5300. Is that a pretty good price?

better have a lot of mods for that price... i got my 04 at a steal at 5200, but with about 4-5k in awsome aftermarket ****...

food for thought, 05-06 suspension is much better than 03-04, and engine is uped a lil.

There is also an '06 with 1700 miles for $7200. I would probably pullthe trigger if I could get it for $6,500
