'08 CBR 1000, is it good?

RE: Can't Post!
OK, good, I finally got on. Now for my question. I'm new to the site and have been taking a hard look at the new for '08 CBR 1000. From what I hear it's light, compact and has awesome midrange torque. OK now for the bad news. I have been hearing rumours of fairly serious issues with quality control on these bikes. I have heard stories of high oil consumption, smoking exhaust, notchy transmissions that hang up on the first to second gear upshift, droning exhaust noise at cruise, weak batteries, down on power compared to Euro spec machines etc.etc. You guys that own one, is this stuff for real or does someone out there just have a hard on for Honda?

ok, 1)I have no oil consumption problem at all, 2)No smoking exhaust, 3)Transmission is butter, 4) Exhaust noise is epic-ly awesome 5)battery is a battery no problems. 6)Ignore the "Euro spec crap it's a different Dyno across the world they are the same bike" 7)Lighter then my 600F4i
This is the best bike I have ever ridden

You might want to take a look at this thread:

Honda's already started replacing bikes with excessive oil consumption.
